About

Let me start by giving you a little background information on exactly why I began making my own pistol grips. After purchasing a new Kimber CDP II, I decided that I wanted a nice set of custom grips for it…something to set it apart from the others. I went to several gun shows and looked at lots of grips, but I just wasn't satisfied with what I was seeing. After searching the net I ran across a website where someone had made a revolver grip out of Amboyna. That was a pretty grip…and after I saw it I knew what kind of wood I wanted to use. After the first set of grips, I started trying out other types of wood, some of which you can see on the Wood page. I mainly use burl wood scales since they tend to have very unique patterns and colors and make excellent looking grips. Please keep in mind that burl wood grips do have some natural inclusions in the surface.

How the Grips are Made

Each of my grips is HAND CRAFTED - I do not mass produce grips using CNC machinery. Each piece of grip wood is carefully selected and numerous man hours are spent cutting, shaping, fitting, sanding, and finishing on each set of grips. As with anything, you get what you pay for - and in this case you're paying for a totally unique, beautiful set of hand crafted exotic wood grips. Unlike many of my competitors, I have full size, officers size, and bobtailed pistols on site to exactly fit your grips to the pistol. No jigs or pattern blocks of wood are used for fitting, just the actual pistol for the grip size you order. This *does* make a difference! Pistols used include Kimber, Springfield, Colt, & Ed Brown. Please visit my Process Page for more information on making grips.

Custom Grips - Made to Order

As you look through the grips for sale on this website, if you don't see what you're looking for, I can make a custom set of grips for you using the wood type you specify. Prices are generally the cost of the wood + $80 labor, and time to complete a set is generally 2 to 3 weeks (from the time I receive the scales). You can contact me with your request, and I will check the wood availability and give you an exact quote and expected delivery date. Please keep in mind that I will do my best to fulfill your request using the best premium wood scales available. You can also send me scales that you provide, as long as the dimensions meet my requirements (5"long x 2" wide x 3/8" thick are preferred).

All grips are cut for an AMBIDEXTROUS SAFETY for your convenience, unless otherwise specified. If you want a custom set of grips without an Ambi-Cut please contact me.

My Guarantee

If for any reason you are not satisfied with your new custom pistol grips that you purchase from me you can return them within 15 days for a full refund less shipping cost, no questions asked. I reserve the right to refuse the return of any grips that have been abused, nicked, chipped, cracked, etc.
